Real experiences from real travelers
The pickup was at 6 AM, which was early, but totally worth it to beat the crowds. The water at Similan is unlike anything I've ever seen. Saw two turtles!
The islands are paradise. The only downside is the travel time - about 2 hours by van then 1.5 by boat. But once you are there, it is magic.
We booked the catamaran option. Very stable and the food was delicious Thai buffet. The guide spoke good English and Chinese.
The snorkeling was the best part. Visibility was 30 meters plus. The climb to Sail Rock is a must for the photo. Highly recommend booking the premium speedboat.
Donald Duck Bay was quite crowded, but our guide took us to a quieter snorkeling spot afterwards which was perfect. Vegetarian food options were good.
Everything you need to know for your journey
The islands are only open from October 15th to May 15th. The best weather and calmest seas are usually from December to March.
The total journey is long. Expect a 1.5 to 2-hour van ride from your Phuket hotel to the pier in Phang Nga, followed by a 1 hour and 15-minute speedboat ride to the islands.
Most tours listed on our platform include the National Park entrance fee in the final price, but always check the specific 'Inclusions' section of your selected tour to be sure.

It is generally not recommended for infants (under 1) or very young children due to the bumpy speedboat ride. Children aged 4+ who are comfortable in water usually enjoy it.
